Starts off weird and the plot keeps its cards close to itself.  All slowly becomes clear and leads into a gripping apocalyptic planet.  I don’t normally read this futuristic spec fiction stuff but trying to figure out what was going on, kept me going.  The thought control parts I didn’t care for much but…  I really liked the suspense and action scenes and the way society has formed in the wake of a virus that turns people into creatures.  The ending is left ambiguous so I expect to see a sequel when the humans actually go out and hunt down these formidable creatures and kick some ass.
